Treasure Island Experience

On this tour of the past, present and future, you will get a comprehensive and informative presentation and tour and of the museum and see all the TIMA exhibits.

The Treasure Island Museum Association has been the guardian of the Island’s history for over 40 years.  The non-profit organization, promotes the history of Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands, curates historic exhibits relevant to the history of the Islands, the Golden Gate International Exposition, the United States sea services, and the history of San Francisco Bay.

Next we will visit the Job Corps Center which sits on 42 acres on the Island. We will have a tour of the student projects including running the student restaurant and growing organic produce in the Green Acre Urban Farm.

You will also learn about the future vision and plans from the Treasure Island Development Authority.

Bring a picnic or enjoy lunch (your expense) at Mersea, the new dining destination on the Great Lawn of Treasure Island.  You cannot compete with MerSea for a fantastic  city view. From here you will not only see the entire city skyline but the hills of Sausalito, Belvedere and the majestic sweep of the Oakland connection to the Bay Bridge.

In the afternoon we will ingenjoy free wine tasting at the Fat Grape Winery.ree tasting. The island has started the urban winery movement which is now home to wineries and tasting rooms mostly opened on weekends.

Networking with other guides can last as long as you'd like in that transportation is on your own schedule.

We look forward to having a large and enthusiastic turnout
