Memberships

With an Annual Membership in the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild, you will join fellow Tour Guides who are passionate about professionalism, who are incurably inquisitive, and who have a joy for life. We strive to make every tour and client interaction a fun and unforgettable experience! Among the many advantages of membership are:

  • Frequent social activities for both enjoyment and professional networking
  • Professional training, as part of continuing education or towards the goal of becoming a Certified Guide
  • Access to membership listings
  • Access to discussion groups, covering topics from local history to advocacy on issues affecting the industry
  • Personal liability insurance offered through the National Association of Tour Guides and Directors

Individual Membership

Memberships are sold on a calendar year basis, hence there are two fees depending on whether the application is submitted before or after June 1. The Board of Trustees reviews each application for acceptance. Prospective Member must also read and agree to our Code of Conduct conditions. Individual Memberships are appropriate for Tour Guides, Tour Directors, Transportation Specialists, Hospitality Workers, and others, whether you work as an employee or as a freelancer, part or full time.
