The final weekend of the 57th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is here! There will be many activities, events, and performances throughout the weekend. Sunday is Grand Parade that starts at City Hall at 1pm and works its way to Japantown. If you’ve never attended the parade it’s a wonderful opportunity to see with so many cultural groups and of course the audience favorite, the Taru Mikoshi at the finale. Oh did we mention that Hello Kitty is the Grand Marshal? She is celebrating her 50th year!! We are also excited to see brothers Ricky and Robert Okamura proprietors of Benkyodo as our Community Grand Marshals. What a great way to thank them for the many years that the Okamura family has been part of Japantown’s community.
From Kawaii to Sugoi, Ramen to Sushi, Origami and Matcha, there something for everyone here in Japantown.
Tomorrow is the Grand Parade, beginning at City Hall at 1:00 pm and working its way to Japantown.
