Local Take, owned by Jenn Meyer, is a gift shop in the Castro that sells products from over 100 Bay Area artists
Editor's note: With the holiday shopping season in full swing, The Examiner is profiling local businesses where you can check off your gift lists and keep your money in our community.
Products from over 100 Bay Area artists and designers line the shelves of Local Take, a Castro gift shop that has been selling an assortment of art, accessories, clothing, home goods and jewelry for over a decade — and become a neighborhood staple along the way.
Owner Jenn Meyer launched the business in 2013 as an effort to showcase local artisans whose handmade work celebrates the region. The result honors The City’s landmarks, neighborhoods and natural surroundings, while whimsical merchandise brings humor into the shopping experience with fun prints, eye-catching colorways and witty sayings.
