| Minutes of the SFTGG General Meeting |
| Monday, November 16, 2009 |
| Meeting was held at Aquarium by the Bay, Pier 39. |
| President Michele McCurry called the meeting to order at 6:15. She welcomed the members and introduced the board. |
| Beth Graubart (Membership Chair) read the names of the six new members who had joined since the last meeting and introduced those in attendance. |
| Michael Stortz (Certification Chair) introduced and congratulated the newly certified guides: Lynn Andrews and Sandy Weins. |
| Michael Purcell (Public Relations Chair) welcomed representatives from the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, who presented the SFTGG with a certificate of recognition honoring 25 years of service to the city. |
| Jeanette Arevalo (Treasurer) presented the 2010 budget. Copies were passed out to members. The budget was approved by the membership. |
| A representative from Blue and Gold gave a short presentation on their tours, including the new Rocket Boat tour, a fun high-speed ride. |
| What's Happening Calendar for 2010 was shared. |
| Michael Purcell welcomed representatives from the Mayor's office who presented the SFTGG with a proclamation honoring the Guild and announcing that November 16, 2009 was officially San Francisco Tour Guide Guild Day. All the past presidents were called up to accept the proclamation. |
| Anita Rao shared some of the upcoming programs including City Tour, Yosemite, Ano Nuevo and Muir Woods. CPR training will be offered on January 6. Don DeLaura and Anita (Program Co-Chairs) thanked everyone who had helped with tours in 2009. |
| Don DeLaura thanked and recognized Ulla Kaprielian, Renata Combs and Jason Cohen for their dedication to the Guidepost. He asked for new volunteers to carry on the publication. |
| Susan Driscoll shared details of the 25th Anniversary Holiday Party scheduled for December 7, from 6:00-9:00 at Lake Merritt Chalet. RSVP to Don DeLaura by 12/4/09 |
| The following Guides accepted nominations for the 2010 Board of Trustees: Sandy Weins, MaryAnn Sams, Tatiana Gay and Lynn Andrews. Nominations will stay open until December 1, 2009. |
| POW WOW 2011 was announced. It will be held in San Francisco from May 21-26 2011. Volunteer tour guides will be sought for this important travel convention. If members have suggestions for tours they should let Michele know by December 1. Tours will be offered on May 21 and 22 only. |
| The NFTGA convention was announced. It will take place on a cruise ship starting in Miami in February 2010. |
| Raffle was held with many lucky winners. |
| Meeting adjourned for refreshments provided by Boudin Bakery at 8:00. |
